    I would like to use Roxio EZ Creator Platinum to burn VCD's. This program needs mpg files and I have mostly AVI files. Is there a straighforward way to convert AVI to MPG?

    Download and use TMPGEnc . Also go to vcd help under tmpgenc and there is a list of exactly how to encode with TMPGEnc.
