I sometimes download some of my movies from the internet as a avi. Then I use ConvertXToDVD, to convert the movies and to burn the movies to dvd-r. I don't have any codecs installed. Once the movie is downloaded you can hear it fine, and the picture is ok, not brilliant but ok! My question is this if I installed codecs would I get I better picture and better sound! Thank you for answering my question!

No, probably not. If you are viewing the videos on the computer, you already have the proper codecs installed. Downloaded movies have already had the quality removed when they were converted to AVI type formats. You can't get it back.

As Jerry Lewis once said to Stanley Kubrick, "You can't polish a turd"

To which Kubrick replied - "you can if you freeze it"

Which doesn't help you, but it is a nice story.

Go and buy the DVD from Amazon and stopping bitching about the crap quality of something you didn't pay for.

For your information Sir, I buy 90 percent of my movies on dvd, but now and then I might download a film! All I was asking is a question! There's no need to be rude!
