helle,
I am trying to use ProjectX. I demuxed all right a TS stream, but now I cannot find the way to cut the streams. Everything is in front of me, cut preview and a "cutting" tab, but I simply did'nt find how to do it.
There is a guide on this site, but, besides it is out of date, it does not say anything about cutting. Maybe there are other guides or tutos ?
Is there a ProjectX user who can help me ?

Never used it myself (and lookin' at the docs...now I know why...
)
But, there's a reference walk-thru at Doom9 about it.

Sure. ProjectX is great, but not a great cutter. You can import your demuxed Audio and Video into Mpeg2Schnitt or Cuttermaran and cut from there.

I found out at last how to cut with Project X. It does cut. What do you mean it's "not a great cutter" ?. Do you think it is not very user friendly for this type of processing, or do you think the result of cutting is not always good ? Because demuxing and cutting in one pass is faster...Originally Posted by Soopafresh

Not at all. For demuxing and error correction, ProjectX is one of the best. The program has a very small preview window, so cutting is hard on the eyes. For a VERY fast way to cut, you can use 2 programs - 1) Projectx- Convert to M2P (takes the TS and converts to regular Mpeg2), then load the file in 2) Mpg2Cut2 - One of the fastest Mpeg cutting programs out there.

Thank you Soopafresh
You are right, I tried a real cut and you cannot make an accurate one.Originally Posted by Soopafresh
I will have a try with Mpg2Cut2, but in the process TS->mpeg2 (Projectx) and Mpeg2->Mpeg2, are all the elementary streams preserved, and cut ? Because I want to keep elementary streams. I have a good mpeg2 cutter which is VideoRedo, I use it when I save my DVB-T stream as a Mpeg file, with only one video and one audio. VideoRedo does not handle more streams.Originally Posted by Soopafresh
In order to keep 2 audios and subpictures, that's why I save in TS format. Cuttermaran and Mpeg2Schnitt do not handle the subpics, unless I missed something.
I think that my search for the right tools is not finished.

Actually, try the new Transport Stream Packet Editor .

TS Packet Ed seems to be a little young, doesn't it ? I think I will stick to ProjectX for my first videos, then maybe try TSPE if ProjectX is too tiresome for my eyes or too inaccurate for good cuts.Originally Posted by Soopafresh
Thank you for all these suggestions, it's amazing how people here gather so many informations.
