  2. You're using a filter that is displaying motion vectors. Turn off the "Show motion vectors" option.

Since you gave no details about what format you converted from, what format you converted too, what software you used for the conversion, and what software you used for the playback, it's not possible to say where the problem is.

EDIT: I have seen similar with the first pass with a VirtualDub antishake filter. It generates this information, then uses that to correct the video on the second pass.

  5. Yes, I've see the VirtualDub filter called DeShaker do something like that. It looks different though. I've seen some MPEG analysis tools display motion vectors. I think there are some AVISynth filters that can show motion vectors.

If you open your final Divx file with VirtualDub do you see the vectors?

  7. On TV? You're using a DVD player that plays Divx files? Or are you using a TV connected to your computer?

Assuming the MP4 source file doesn't have the arrows, and they are part of the picture in the Divx file you made, the River Past software must have added the vectors during the conversion. Look through its options to see if you can turn off the motion vectors.

Do you see these in the original file ?

If not, explain exactly how you created the avi file you are now playing ?

  10. If he's using ffdshow with the motion vectors turned on, that'll produce it. Do we know for sure that it's in the encoded file?

  11. I didn't know ffdshow had that feature. I just tried it and it looks very much like jarko's sample. If that's where it's coming from use:

Start -> ffdshow -> Video decoder configuration -> Visualizations (uncheck).

Start -> ffdshow -> VFW codec configuration -> Decoder tab -> Visualizations (uncheck).
