Well it has come to the point where I honestly don't know what to do.

All I want to do is get a movie onto Google Video. It's not easy task considering the movie is 2hrs 30 minutes long. I have seen movies up to 3 hours long on GV so I know it's not a length or filesize problem especially seeing as they don't have a limit.

I've upload files ranging from 800mb to 1.2gb and I've had enough. Every single format I upload in, from .mp4 to .wmv is shown up as 'failed'. But there is one I haven't tried... and it's the one Google has advised me to upload in. That's DivX. Please don't ask me to email Google because all I get are automated responses that say "Try uploading in our recommended formats" which I already am.

Every time I export from Premiere Pro to DivX, or Convert to Divx I get serious color issues. Distorted blocks are the most common.

What can I do. I've tried so many things and I'm just out of ideas.

Oh and then there's the audio problem. Premiere Pro won't allow MP3 with DivX exports.

I just want to get my file into a working, nice looking DivX file. How? Should I convert from a stable MPEG2 export?

The program you use doesn't matter much, it's all in the codec and it's settings if you want to reduce size, mostly bitrate. But you should be able to get it down to ~800-900MB or so and still have decent quality. High action videos take more bitrate than static ones.

You can reduce the audio size down quite a bit to start with. Then the framesize and even the framerate. You could try VirtualDub Mod and the Divx codec. Reducing a 2 1/2 hour video to a very small file will usually make it look like major crap using the Divx codec or similar.

But I was under the impression that Google uses FLV format video. Here's one guide for that: https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=315188

Try instead AutoGK or Dr.DivX and make a DivX with mp3 from the mpeg2.

Hey guys, thanks for the responses.

I gave Dr Divx a try but the output was in .divx format as opposed to .avi and to the best of my knowledge, GV doesn't accept .divx

Google uses FLV, but for some reason you cannot upload it flv. I have no idea why.

Just change the .divx to .avi

    As in just rename it?

  7. Yes, just rename the file. Divx is the same container as avi, it just has some extensions for extra features (menus, chapters, etc). If you don't use those features there is no difference. Even if you do use those features any decent AVI player that doesn't support them will simply ignore them.
