  1. I have bought a new SVHS cable, because the old one was to short. Now I cant get any colour using the new SVHS cable, but I still get colour with the old one. Is there something wrong with the new cable or why is donīt I get any colour?

Something wrong with the new cable. Likely is a bent pin on the connector. Otherwise, return it for another.

  3. Now come the strange part. The thing is, if I connect the new cable to the front SVHS jack I get colour, but when I connect to a scart adapter there is no colour (There for I doubt that this is a cable problem).

I canīt understand why I get colour via scart adepter with the old cable and not the new cable. This seems very strange to me, so if any one have a tip it would be very appreciated.

No colour with S-Video means you are supplying an S-Video signal to a device that is expecting a Composite signal. It seems pretty obvious that you have either a faulty Scart adapter or, more likely, you are selecting the correct input on your TV but not the correct mode. As you are talking Scart, I assume you are in Europe. Most TV sets allow you to select the input to use and also the mode. For instance, on a Panasonic you select AV2 or AV2S. AV2 uses that Scart connector but in Composite mode, AV2S uses the same connector but it selects the S-Video pins within the Scart.

You will also find that on a TV with multiple Scarts, it is common that some will work in either Composite or S-Video and others will work in Composite or RGB. If this is the case, try a different Scart socket.
