    Go into windows explorer .
    Tool's .
    Folder options

    Go to view tab
Go down to hidden file and folders
Check " chow hidden fiels and folder's

Hit apply , then ok .

Go to your normal login account under documents and settings .
    Local settings folder
    Application data
    Identities

XXXXXXXXXXXXX , folder with unique id , big long number
    Microsoft

Zip up the outlook express folder you see , it'll contain it all .

    ---------------

When you have finished with the reinstall of the os , remember you must setup your isp account first before you can put this data back in place ... do not do it the other way around .

    --------------

Some virus's embed themselve's inside the restroe point's ... you would need to disable system restore to remove them .
    Avgfree should nail it .
Adaware se for all other junk .

And for the " I aint leaving " stuff , there's hijackthis ... has a feature to remove file's upon system reboot before os get's up ... this really can's their butt's .

Run hijackthis first , do a system scan , and check what's actually running in the background on the pc ... you might have a trojan more than anything else causeing the issue with outlook express .

Be aware , you may have an email in the backup that's infected ... before you restore the data after the os reload , and the isp account details setup , download avgfree , install it , and update it .

This way , if it's hiding in the backup , it'll get nailed .

    -----------------------

Those having issue's connecting online , ie browser , or email ...

EMPTY the virus vault in avg first ... so , even if they are in the vault , they will prevent online activity until they have been deleted

    ----------------------

    It's xp :

Remember the user name's , and setting's when the os was installed ... if you use the same value's , grab those wpa's in xp's windows / system32 folder ... *.bak and *.wpl ... these can be put back in place , and the system dosent require to be reactivated .
