  1. Ive searched the forums and seen others have had a problem with this but cant see any mention of a fix because the topics usually go, off-topic.

Is there a fix for this without re-encoding the avi?

    Thanks!

  2. Aside from getting a TV that doesn't overscan (some studio and medical monitors don't overscan), or a Divx/DVD player with an underscan option (my old Liteon LDV-2002 has the ability), there's nothing you can do but add a black border around the edges and re-encode.

  3. Ah really eh, ok well that sucks as I dont really wana spend the time re-encoding this stuff, as when I re-encode its no longer optimized for the PC, I wanted a DVD of DIVX as backup files that I could also watch so in the future when BD are cheap I could move from DIVX to BD. Guess ill just have to live with the overscan, shame its a huge overscan tho

Overscan is a property of your TV, not the player. You might be able to adjust the TV so that it overscans less.
