    Hi peeps, havin some trouble using my DVD Writer.For some reason its either not seeing blank disks or refuses to use them.If i put a normal disk in like a game disk it runs fine.Anybody else have any ideas on what this might be.Any help would be great cheers.

    1. Is the media you're trying to use compatible with the burner? Most burners handle + or - DVD media, but there are still some older ones that won't.

    2. Is the media good quality? Some burners are very picky and will not accept media from certain manufacturers.

    I would start with these two things. If it's compatible, good media we can take it from there.

    I have tried a number of types from cheapo to good stuff like HP duel format disks.The drive does pretty much everything apart from see blanks.

    "HP duel format disks" there is no such thing? AFAIK
    update the firmware.
    Make sure the blanks are compatible eg plus or minus
    can it burn CDR's??

    Is your laser dirty or dieing.

    My first DVD burner a Pioneer 107 continued to read commercial DVDs (they are pressed I think) but would not read burnt DVD-R and became unable to burn to blank DVD-R.

    At their price I did not bother investigating further and ditched it and got the latest Pioneer and this one lasting much longer.
