    hi
    i have a disk that contains all the folders mpeg, cdi & all the folders
    the cd plays well on vcd & dvd players but is not accessable on computer
    the cd shows o bytes & on mouseover on folder it shows empty folder, even right click is not able, no menu shows on right click.
    any way it is not accessable on system.

    how to read those files , are they locked? or it is done through some special kind of writing software.

    any ways how to open it on system.

    try extract the video .dat file using isobuster.

    ...or VCDGear.
    A VCD does in fact not contain much of a PC recognizable file system. If it's a commercial VCD, it may even be copy protected.

    I KNEW you were from India as soon as I saw your post title. We get this kind of message ALL THE TIME here from Indian guys. Indian VCDs are copy protected. The copy protection installs a program on your PC that makes the VCD look like what you see and prevents you from being able to copy it. I saw a big discussion somewhere a few months ago (maybe on this forum, but I'm not sure) about what the program was and how to remove it. I'm sorry, but I don't remember the details. Your VCD plays fine on VCD and DVD players because the disc can't install the program on them that it installs on PCs that makes the VCD uncopyable. Good luck.

    Which brings this golden rule to mind:
    Never enable autorun on any drive!
    If it's not Sony using music CDs to spread their root kit, it's Indian VCD installing copy protection. Oh, Thank you! Bill! for "inventing" autorun.
