I bought my girlfriend a video ipod for christmas. I want to take clips of her favorite movies and put them on there for her. From what I understand it is a 3 step process:

    1. Encode the dvd to mpeg
    2. Edit the mpeg to desired clip
    3. Convert mpeg to mp4 format.
    (4. import to ipod).

Do I have this right? Is there another method I should be using? What tools should I use (according to guides in their respected catagories i would be using TMPGEng to make and edit the MPG file then 3GP Video Wrapper to turn it into an mp4).

    Thanks
    Larry

Or use Nero Recode to do it all, open directly from dvd and do basic editing, convert to mp4.

OK I actually have this program, but where inside of it can I set a start and stop time to make a clip? Lets say I wanted to make a 10 minute clip for the ipod (and not the whole movie).
