I am converting DVD quality WMV files to Mpeg2 with TMPGenc Plus and then using GUIDVDauthor to burn them to disc.
I am converting them to Elementary-streams so they can be imported into the GUI program...
THE Problem is that the mpeg video is freezing about every 5-10secs as it is being played as if my systems resources are being taxed. The audio is in sync and this is NOT a "jitter".
This occurs whenever the converted mpeg is played in Windows Media player, Pinnacle Studio 9 Plus, and other Mpeg2 compatible software. I thought this was just PC rendering related, BUT when burned on a DVD and played on set top players, it mirrors that of what is played on the computer, The only program that will play the files is Adobe Premiere which I do not want to use to author since it has to recompile and encode everything which will take 2-3 hours when compared to the 10min the GUI program takes.
I have been using TMPGenc to batch convert the WMV files when I go to bed and system resources are available. My System is new and has more than enough resources to handle conversion. Could this be a problem with the actual Mpeg2 conversion codec?
Please help!
Thanks,
Big B

It's probably some problems with the wmv decoding in tmpgenc plus. I would test convert the wmv to dv-avi using WMM and then convert the DV-AVI to DVD using Tmpgenc plus and see if I get any difference.
