    DVD format = AUDIO_TS
    VIDEO_TS

    What is HDDVD format

    What is Blu-ray format

Can the ts files be converted to either of the above?

    That should help out.

They haven't been "officially" cracked yet so you can't get them on the computer yet. But you should be able to do normal downconversion to get them on a normal dvd.

    To yoda313:

Thanks for the reply. I recently acquired the Blaze HDTV software player and was anxious to try it out. I thought that if I could get a HD video on a harddrive that Blaze might play it. The only HD video that I have so far has been the ts format and Blaze will not play it.

Ok hdtv is a different animal then either bluray or hd from what I understand.

I think vlc or mediaplayerclassic will play .ts files.

If you want to downconvert hdtv to dvd you need a few programs. Something like projectx to demux the video and audio. Tmpgenc or another encoder to downres the video to dvd resolution, and an author program that either takes audio and video seperately or you'd have to remux the downconverted video and original audio.

It does take a lot of time to convert hdtv to dvd. Or you could playback in realtime and dub to a dvd recorder but you'd lose the 5.1 audio if the program had it.

Check the forums for hdtv to dvd and you'll find plenty of guides.
