Hi All,
I have a video in DVType2 format from my Vcr/Camcorder->Firewire, that according to GSpot, is Interlaced and TopField First. When I import this video into Sony Vegas 7.0, what field order should I use for DVD play back for computer, and dvd players for TV, Progressive or Upperfield?
I read some where if your video is interlaced it needs to be kept as interlaced using progressive. When I tried this I noticed the frames weren't lined up correctly in Dvd Lab Pro unless I use TopFieldFirst, with blendings set on deinterlacing on the video.
I'd appreciated if a vegas user could tell me what my projects settings should be set to, for this type of video for dvd play back.
Thanks.
Matt

[***Assuming you're going to end up watching on a std TV***]
If your source is Interlaced, don't do ANY deinterlacing. Encode/Compress it leaving it as interlaced. IIRC, DV is ALWAYS TopFieldFirst, so it should be left that way also.

Field order selection depends on the device it was captured with or recorded on, you want to maintain whatever it is.
