    Hi

I'm new to video capture and am trying to link up my old Sony VHS to my PC... but I'm unsure if the Graphics Card I have supports video capture or not.

The GC is a Gainward 6800GT 'Golden Sample' AGP 256MB TV-DVI-DVI.

It appears to have a SVHS port, into which I've plugged the appropriate cable from my video machine.

The problem I am having is that I can't install a Nvidia WDM Multimedia driver for the card - I get an error code 10 saying that the device cannot be started. Searching around the net has indicated this could be because my GC doesn't support Video Capture.

    Any and all help appreciated!

  2. The s-video port is for output to a TV, not input.

For video capture, you will need a TV Tuner card or and all-in-one card such as the ATI All-In-Wonder.

There are also video cards with VIVO which support video capture. Examples are the newer NVIDA and ATI cards. While these cards will support capture, I still prefer a dedicated capture card/device.
