This might be a dumb question, but why is TMPGEnc listed as a freeware in this page?
https://www.videohelp.com/tools?s=107#107
When I follow the download link, it takes me to a page where I can either buy it or get a trial (with water mark?). Is there a freeware version link I'm not seeing?
Thanks!

The free one is here:
http://www.tmpgenc.net/en/e_download.html -
From memory:
Tmpgenc encoder will encoder MPEG2 and MPEG1 files. The MPEG1 part is freeware, the MPEG2 part is not. The MPEG2 encoder is trialware with a 30day limit then it will not work anymore. The MPEG1 (VCD) freeware part will work forever, but who encodes MPEG1 anymore. lol
Tmpgenc products are worth the $$ IMO
Good luck. -
I had that version (from googling) installed yesterday and got confused by that 30 day trial thing. It's clear now.
Thank you.
