Mmm. Can you reboot and retry. if you get the same error can you report that as you have done this time, but also attach the log file? Log files are kept in the "logs" folder under wherer you installed SVCD2DVD.

also it seems i did find a post where someone had this same problem, and they said they were unable to fix it by reinstalling any version of the program, but after they did these things:

    The fix:
I started with removing the SVCD2DVD v2 software, then removed all the programs that were installed after the first SVCD2DVD install.
Then I went into the Windows registry and removed all traces of not only the SVCD2DVD software but all the other removed software.
    I also removed .Net Frameworks.

Then I shut down the system to get a full memory dump.
Restarted the system, installed the other programs that was removed, then installed .Net Frameworks 1.1, and then the SVCD2DVD v2.

then they say it works. problem is that ive had the program for quite awhile and i cant uninstall every program ive installed since then so i dont know that its an option. also i dont like to mess with Windows registry because i dont know enough to risk messing up my system.

Also can you try copying Greys.Anatomy.S03E01.HDTV.Xvid-LOL.avi to say C:\Kevin and then try it on its own - just to see if your path (having a ' in the folder name) is the problem.
