    Hi everybody,

I'm trying to convert a very big TS-File to h.264 using the x264-codec.
But ffmpegx just won't mux them. So I have aa video with superior picture-quality,
but without sound! I tried a few audio settings, but even with passthrough it makes
two files. Sadly, I havent found a way to mux the files yet. This is the config I use.

Also tried the ffmpeg-version of h.264 as encoder, but the file seems to get incredibly large. At 15% it's about 800 mb, the entire file in x264 is 2.96 gigs large.

    thanks in advance

picture2 - Your chosen bitrate is about 3x more than needed for the given video size, hence the blue color. Try the 'Best' button in the calculator to adjust.
picture3 - For MP4 files, you should choose AAC audio. That may be why muxing failed.
picture5 - I don't think it makes sense to use both Constant bitrate and Two-pass encoding. I would use two-pass to optimize a variable bitrate.

  3. The steps indicated by Case are correct. If afterwards problems persist, please understand that support of TS files as source (program streams) is still not completely optimal. In case of TS read errors, then MPEG Streamclip should be used first to repack TS into MPG (system stream).

Okay, Again, there's the same error. Here's the logfile:

    ffmpegx-log.txt

I'll melt the two files together with quicktime 7 p. I hope this will work, quality-wise .

Okay, Quicktime did it perfectly. Here is how I did it:

    1. Open the mp4-video in quicktime
    2. Open the audio-track in quicktime
    3. Select the audio-track-windows and press command + a
    4. Select the movie-window and goto 'edit' -> 'add to movie' (or 'Add to movie & scale')
    5. Save and your done.

You'll get a mov-file with sound and movie
