I have discovered this technique for getting into the service menu of my DVP-NS725p player but have not been unable to make any changes once in there. Any help as to how to change settings once in there would be appreciated.
Here is what you do to access the menu.

    1. Turn off player with power button.
    2. Press TopMenu button, then Clear button, then Power Button.
    3. When unit powers up you will be in the Service Menu.
    4. Pressing any of the listed item's numbers will get you into that submenu.
    5. Pressing 0 will back you out of that submenu.
    6. Pressing Power button from the beginning service menu will get you out and back to normal mode.

    to stmsds,
The hacks mentioned at your link do not work on the 725p, I am interested in info on how to use the service menu to effect changes in the 725p's performance as to region and macrovision which are right in the service menu. I just don't know which buttons on the remote access them.

jacksrepairs, I am also searching for DVP-NS725P to make region free.
I found that your procedure at least show the menu, I tried couple of options but I can't able to find how to change the region.

If I found I will post it here, but if you already found please update this post.

    Thanks

Are you looking to make it "Region Free" to play original pressed import dvd's or are you trying to make it play PAL formatted dvd's ?

Because by backing up original pressed import disc's will effectively make them region free, however, if they are PAL that's another story as Sony players in the U.S. are notorious for NOT converting pal to NTSC, or even displaying/playing PAL disc's even if you had a TV that will display PAL video.

    Thanks for reply.

Jonst, I will look at the site which you suggested, someone else already asked my question, so I will see the reply.

Noahtuck, I have NTSC Format DVD, but from different region, so I need to make it region free.
