    Hi,

    I'm trying to join several avi files together using virtualdubmod. On trying to open them, I encountered the error :

    "Couldn't locate decompressor for format AVC1 (unknown)"

    These files are converted from .mpg using SUPER.

    I searched the forum and there were some suggestions that vfw were missing. Do i need to install anything else?

    Did I do something wrong?

    You need FFDSHOW in order to decompress AVC1 FourCC

    And then configure the Video For Windows (vfw) codecs from the Start Menu to make sure virtualdub sees them.
