I have ripped numerous discs over the past couple but I am stumped. I have burned a copy of Clerks2 and now I need to make a copy of this copy. 2x in a row the burning process using Shrink hangs at 78%???

DVD Decryptor -> ISO Read
ImageBurn -> ISO Write
I hope it helps.

Pretty common IMO, that the backup disc can't be copied - there's "always" some read error preventing backing up a back up. Shouldn't be a problem tho, as you by definition do have the original Clerks 2 if you have a backup, and can use that for your 2nd backup.

More often than not, I get read errors in DVDDecrypter, making a 2nd generation backup impossible, even if the disk plays without problem in my DVD player. May well be because I use cheap media, and don't care for this kind of problem as long as they play OK. YMMV.

Although your problems could be cheap media, it may also be your elderly DVDwriter.
Although I don't usually make more than one copy of a disk, on those occaision when I copy a copy I have no errors. And I use pretty cheap media. -
I haft to laugh.
What happened to the good old days when you would simply copy the files over onto the hdd then write them back to a new disk... Yea I know it might be a little slower than using ISO image create/burn programs, but when these faster programs fail.... duh
I'm getting old. -

Well, just because a program works, does not mean it worked either!
I made a backup of Blues Brothers when I first started out years ago, capture from tape, burnt onto a princo or lead data 1x disk.
I want to make a new copy of that disk. Well it has problems I always thought was faulty on my part, one of my first but does play well exept a 1 spot.
Cant' just copy the files in windows, get an error and crash.
Can't copy in shrink, error and crash.
Put it in the 111d I just bought, says no disk!
Put it in the NEC 2500 and there it is, plays well but that one one spot skips.
Rip with Fab Decrypter today and it riped compleate though it choked alittle in a spot where it said 7hours 30 minutes to go.
LUCKY I checked the DVD before burning it again, total TRASH! Far worse than the disk itself plays. After about 1/4 way through the movie I got macro blocks, skipping, junk audio, you name it and it's bad. I deleted it. I geuss I will have to dig out the tape and capture a new copy again. Not a problem being I do have the tape, just a pain to do a 2 hr or what ever capture again and author a new disk and all that.
For now I'll wait, I should have a settop recorder today according to UPS tracking, so I'll see how that works out.
Heck, being so much music in the movie, I may just buy it on DVD anyway and backup that, I expect the DVD should have better audio than a VHS tape, if not I will be pissed as that is the only reason I would buy it agian. -

Your Blues Brothers experience stems from a time when there were few dissenters from the must be "bad media" explanation because there was some really sucky media. Princo or Lead Data would fall in that category. And they don;t get better with age. -
It also helps to have a few different/age/brands of readers/burners. For slightly damaged discs, at least, one may read it where another may choke on it. This is also were DVDDecrypter comes in handy as it will re-try, as often as you set it to, to read the disc.

Not quite clear, the burning stage hangs at 78%, or the ripping stage hangs at 78% ?
What discs are you using ? Copy of a copy should be no problem under normal circumstances. -
