In a wacky and frustrating turn of events I have been reduced to a MixSonic MS-58. Don't get me wrong, it performs its job of playing just about ever disk ever made adequately. But, the player seem to have a small problem with memory.

After setting the correct video output on the DVD player (component) and the correct aspect ration (16:9) the player can't seem to remember my choices. If I press power on the remote (leaving the "power" on the player button pressed to the standby position) It fails to retain my settings.

Also, the player doesn't seem to play in 16:9. I get bars on "anamorphic" DVD's. Yes my TV is 16:9. And set accordingly.

Yes, I will be getting a new player in a few weeks. But I dont think I should have to live like a barbarian in the mean time.

Any help would be most appreciated.
