    Hi,

i did a backup of some Movie DVDs with DVD Decrypter ("Backup to File"). After
that i wanted to make a DIVX with SimpleDivX, which went fine - but the aspect
ratio of the output avi was wrong each time.

The resolution of the original is 720 x 576, Aspect Ratio 16:9 - at least this is what
SimpleDivX says about the ripped DVD. Maybe this information is already wrong?

I selected "Original" as the "Custom Output Format" (which then will be 720 * 576,
16:9 as well) and started the conversion.

However, when the conversion was done the divx movie had a different aspect ratio
than the original DVD (everyone is looking like conehead).

Any ideas about what i´m doing wrong? Should i select a different output format
    (like 704x400)?

    Many thanks!

Many video players will ignore Display Aspect Ratio in avi files, it wont resize the 720x576 avi to 16:9, so it's better to convert and resize directly to that aspect ratio. 1.85:1 video should be around 704x400 for example.
