Does anyone know where I can find a driver for a Philips DVD8401. I reinstalled windows and although it sees the drive, and it works, I dont have a good driver and when I go to do a firmware update it tells me that I need the origional driver. I can find one anywhere. Thanks!

Windows uses its own drivers for all cd/dvd drives. No drivers are needed.

Thank you for the answer, but possibly you didn't read my entire post. You see, I need to do a firmware update, and when I try to do the update I am told that I need "the original driver". So, now I'm stuck looking for that "original" driver.

I would contact Philips Tech Support for more help...

Actually, I did read the entire post. Regardless of what error message you are receiving, there are not any "original drivers".
With that information, you now need to find a solution to your problem.
First, unless you are having an issue with the drive that the new firmware corrects, there is no need to update. You don't need a new update just because one is available.
Second, are you trying to use an official firmware from the manufacturer? Are you certain it is for the correct drive? Are you trying to use the windows version or the DOS version? Have you tried the other version?Google is your Friend
