    This site and this forum got to be a real deep mine - plenty of information!
    I know this quation might be boring but I dare to ask it.

    Can you point me out to the good short clear guide how manualy convert AVI to DVD. There are some good tools that make this task just "by one click" but this is too easy solution if you understand what I mean, this is always interesting to see how it works and to control each step. As far as understand the algorithm shoule be:

    FitCD-->CCE-->VirtualDub-->Authoring

    Right?

    Problem is, AVI comes in so many "flavors", there's no way to find (or suggest) one method to cater for them all.
    Some come with AC3 audio - then you shouldn't reencode the audio at all, but just extract it and reuse it when authoring.
    Some may have an odd frame rate that will need frame rate change to fit the DVD std for your TV system - which have an impact on what and how to treat the audio... and on and on and on...
