Scene splitting Standard DV from Sony HC3

I'm right into playing with my Sony HC3 at the moment so please bear with me

I dragged out some miniDV tapes of footage that I shot with my old JVC DV camera (which died two years ago)

I want to capture all the old footage to my HD and I want a program that will split scenes like HDV Split does.

I tried WinDV from the FAQ but it won't recognise the camera. I have the option selected in Premiere Elements 3 but it doesn't split the scenes at all.

worked it out. I had to change the HC3 from auto to DV and now WinDV works
