The font that I want (or one similar) is the one that is used in the "Vicar Of Dibley" text, any ideas? TIA.

He's a liar and a murderer, and I say that with all due respect.

To my eyes, it looks similar to the font from "the Prisoner". There's a "village.ttf" that might do. The "What the Font" page here might be helpful too.

Edit: Just playing around with it a little, I came up with this:
Not my greatest work, ne? You can see where some of the caps were resized to get a match. -
It's more or less a Celtic style.
Try http://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=403&page=1&nb_ppp_old=20&text=VICAR+OF+DIBLEY&nb_p...0&classt=alpha
You won't get an exact match, it's obviously not just typeset but been manipulated or even completely hand drawn.
But have a look at:
Ardagh
Forgotten Uncial
Livingstone
St Charles
Viking
in the above Dafont list.
One thing is the rounded style of E normally goes with a more lower-case style of D.
You could mix upper and lower case and adjust sizes perhaps. -
@ steveryan: Once you've found the font name, or suggestions for something similar, you may find it here:
www.1001freefonts.com
As for naming it - sorry, no idea. Good luck!
P.S. I'm gonna guess you're a Man U fan... I'm a Hammers fan - I'll say no more...If you're not, let's grin together.

I forgot about this post because the Vicar Of Dibley was shite anyway
Thanks for the replies, i'm going to make my menu over the weekend and hopefully one of the suggestions will suit.
@daamon, yes, I am a Manchester United fan, although lapsed since those bastard Glazers took over. Good luck at West Ham, i'd prefer to play you lot than the likes of Reading and Wigan. I'll never forgive you for losing to the vermin in the F.A Cup final though. He's a liar and a murderer, and I say that with all due respect. -

On the font front - if you find the one you're after, or something close, can you post here what it is and where you found it? I do wedding videos and it may come in handy. Cheers mate! There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.
