I have the basic understanding on how to actually burn DVDs. I am however, unfamiliar with what programs I should use on a Mac operating system.

I am currently using MactheRipper to rip DVDs on to my HD. Although I am finding a few DVDs that give me Bad Sector warnings, which I take as being the copyright protection. Searching around, I found that MactheRipper hasn't had much activity since the beginning of the year. Is there any other or better ripping program I could be using?

To compress and burn, I have been using DVD2onex2. I have not had any problems using this. Just curious if there are better programs than this too. I am trying out Toast 7 for burning, and looking to try out Popcorn for the compression.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Toast 7 and Popcorn have the same compression. Stay with DVD2oneX for compression and burning. Toast is nice to have around. There isn't a better Mac ripper than MacTheRipper. Donate and get the beta version.

Hope to see you at RipDifferent.
