Hi,
I am trying to backup one of my DVD's - and it seems very stubborn. I ripped it without problems wiith MacTheRipper 2.6.6 (and I even tried the version 3 beta - same result). Opened up Toast Titanium, and burned. I have done this before with other dvd's - perfect copies. Not this time though.
After 40 minutes (using 2X memorex DVD+R DL media), the dvd verified - perfect.
Played in two dvd players - both froze for a few seconds and jumped two seconds ahead at 00:02:06 to 00:02:08 - creating a skip.
Re-MacTheRipper'ed, burned using new copy. Same result.
Third attempt - tried again - but used the Video tab ->Video_TS option instead of making a disk image from disk image made using DVD Imager. Same result - at exactly 00:02:06.
Hoping someone has an idea. I am using double layer (DVD-9) DVD+ media - as I don't like to compress.
Oh - and I don't want to forget to mention that the DVD plays just fine - no skip - in the computer's DVD burner (a Pioneer DVR-111D).
Help please! maybe I should use DVDRemaster to re encode the video?
Thx.

First, before Lawnman gets here, go and post more specific info
over at the MTR Forum at www.ripdifferent.com.
Post what the Disc is ( Spiderman 2, etc) and what specific
MTR's you used ( you say 2.66, but which MTR 3? there is
MTR3 r11, r12, r13d, and r13e).
Second, memorex is NEVER good media IMHO.
Try Verbatim media, the DVD+R Double Layer is quite good."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

I'm surprised you had any success burning to Memorex DL media. Only use Verbatim +R DL discs.

Thanks everyone for replying. I really appreciate it. I will try Verbatim DVD+R DL's next time I buy a spindle (I have like 35 more of these memorex branded DVD+R DL's (try saying that 10 times fast!)).
I just put up a post over at ripdifferent under the general ripping category.
thanks,

The reason I asked was because you just joined the ripdifferent forums Dec.1, 2006 and that beta as you can tell came out before you joined. You don't remember where you got it? I think we all know where you got it and it wasn't from donating.

I did find out earlier today that the betas were being presented to those who donate (via another post on ripdifferent.com) - and I did contact the developer with a private message board message earlier today asking to donate. I am happy to donate to such a worthwhile project. No ill intentions were intended in any of my posts or actions.
I hope that you will think twice next time before making assumptions. I have no ill will toward you or anyone here and hope that you have a great New Year.

Duncs,
lawnman confirmed your statement,
13c was a "flash in the pan" release that was pulled
due to problems in the build.
And if lopaka has joined the swiss mafia, with the rest of us,
then, hey glad to have him aboard."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

I don't know what's sadder - the MPAA bring digital technology to market - only to attempt to lock out our acceptable use rights (making the "cause" even more important) -- or George Lucas keeping the original trilogy from us... -

I bought all 3 of those DVD's - and they are not the originals. They are the last revision they made before making the "new"originals.
There is actually a different version (the true original), but it is hard to get a copy. There are a couple of LaserDisk versions of the original - and a few people have dedicated themselves to remastering it from a PAL version to NTSC, and getting the original soundtrack (i forgot where they got that) - and combining the two - to make an actual original movie dvd (DVD-5).
It's called Star Wars: A New Hope - Reinventing the Wheel (or SWANH_RTW for short). Hard to find - but there is a torrent floating around on demonoid. I recommend all obtain a copy while it's still on bittorrent - and yes, I do need more peers! -
This is such bull
Lopaka1988 didn't get his copy in any sort of illicit way. because the software is NOT FOR SALE. If the software was actually for sale we as consumers would acquire all sorts of rights and warranties which GeezerButtz doesn't want to give us. He wants the money but isn't willing to take any responsibility as a manufacturer.
Geezerbuttz is still trying to dance around breaking US and European law with this fiction of 'donation-ware'. It's crapola and everybody knows it, but most people are willing to kiss his ass because he keeps threatening to stop development.
My 2c :P -
