  1. Hi All,
I got to convert a video programme to DVD, i used to TMPG to convert my .avi (pal) to .M2v and .mpa, (ntsc) then i used Adobe encore to author the programme. There was no pain in using encore.... but i'm not really happy with the result of TMPG. I used Constant Birate at 8 and Motion Search Precision to Highest. But still there is a Motion blur in the final output. This motion blur looks bad. This is in particular is a dance programme..... and there is lot of movement by the artist and also lot panning in the camera..... how do i make this better????

    Regards

  2. I wouldn't use constant bitrate unless it's 8mbs or higher -- what you want to do is encode at a variable bitrate, 2-pass or greater (can't remember how many passes you can do in TMPGENC, but at least 2 passes), and set your maximum bitrate to 9mbps. I'd set minimum bitrate to 4mpbs, or even higher.

You will lose some playback time this way, so if your program is over an hour, you may have to do two discs or more. This assume quality is your main issue and you don't mind having multiple disc final DVDs.

    Good luck!

    What is the source ?
What type of blur ? You can't introduce motion blur when encoding, but you can get other issues if you get, say, field order mixed up.

If you are doing PAL to NTSC conversion you should read this -> https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=300144

It is exactly the same process, just different source. The method of conversion is the same.

  7. Hi All,
Thanks for the replies...... i have solved the problem now. Earlier what i had done is converted the video from PAL to NTSC in TMPG along with encoding to MPG. So i had been getting Motion blur kind of look in the encoded video. Now what i have done is taken the video to Canopus Procoder 2 and converted the video from PAL to NTSC and then encoded as MPG. Now the video is looking as good as the tape.
