Can't find this on the search...but I know I read it here.

I found an interesting .mov then disconnected from the internet. Since the mov still plays, I'm trying to find it in my box. I've kept the browser open but it seems the windows search is missing it. I think I read it's saved somewhere else. But where?
    Thx

Maybe temporary files? These are usually in the 'Documents and Settings' folder with your user name and you have to change the 'Folder Options' to make them visible. (Show hidden files and folders) Try the 'Local settings' folder>Temp.

yes...I've looked in the obvious but as I recall from the thread, he found the folder in application data or somesuch then changed the extension to mov. I read up on this via a supplied link at the time and found it only worked with version 6.5...I've 7.1

Anyway, it's still gotta be in my box somewhere...It's a 360 degree panaramic .mov and be around 500kb-1mb perhaps with a different extension

In IE7 click on Tools -> Internet Options. On the General tab, under Browsing Settings, click on the Settings button. On the dialogue that opens, click on View Files, and a Windows Explorer window will open, showing you your Temporary Internet Files contents. The file you are after is 1615KB in size.

Also, under Folder Settings (see Redwudz post), there is a second box you need to uncheck - Hide Protected System Files and Folders. This is the one that hides the Temporary Internet Files folder.

Searching all files doesn't work if you have hidden files or hidden system files ticked in file view. Search will simply ignore them.

I'm not sure Quicktime allows movies to be stored in the caches, anyway. But here's a direct link to the video that you can right-click and save as on: http://360vr.com/pearl11/pearlst11_4800rr.mov

How did I get the link? Well, I've been using a Greasemonkey script with Firefox that I recommend (and probably should've mentioned here long ago). It's the 'Unembed' script, a link to which can be found on this page: http://dunck.us/collab/GreaseMonkeyUserScriptsGeneric

It attempts to put a direct-download hyperlink next to/under an embedded video in a page. Doesn't help Flash videos that run through a 'player' video (it'll hyperlink the 'player'), though.

(Edit: a direct link to the creator's GM scripts page, so you don't have to wade through the listings on the page above: http://neugierig.org/software/greasemonkey/ It also has a link to a bookmarklet version, so you don't have to have it active all the time. Maybe it'll even work on IE as a bookmarklet, I don't know.)

    Thanks...
I found the video days ago just by looking in the source then unticking that last option above. I coded a lot before I started producing video so this was an easy one.
    It's all good
