Impossible without some sort of special programmable remote or PDA type device and either way that is BIG money if you don't otherwise want such a device.

You probably are better off (i.e., cheaper) to just buy a new Pioneer DV-393s that has already been hacked to be region free.

Many places sell such units. One popular place is 220-Electronics

They currently sell a modified to be region free Pioneer DV-393s for $89.00 US Dollars + shipping.

From what I understand it can only be done if you have some sort of PDA or one of those ultra expensive programmable remote controls.

Even then I have no idea how you go about it as I have neither of those devices.

Now you can buy one that has already been pre-modified to be region free ... if you contact a place that sells it that way maybe they can work out a deal with you where you send your unit in and they perform the hack and then mail it back to you. Worth a shot I suppose.

But if you didn't already buy it then just buy one that is already pre-modified.
