I author my DVD by DVD Lab-Pro 1.5.
My video is MPEG2 file , audio is AC3 file , subtitle is .srt file.

Authoring is complete without any error.

When I open this DVD with my DVD Player or any other DVD Player Program (Windows Media Player , etc.). It's work fine.

But when I open it with PowerDVD (both version 6 and version 7) there are 2 subtitle missing from total of 700 line (the missing line just disappear like this dialog doesn't have subtitle).

    Anyone face this problem ?

I really appreciate to every suggestion.

    Best Regards,

I haven't had any problems myself, however a few months back someone was having real problems when authoring subs and playing them back. The subs seemed to be in the VOBs, but PowerDVD didn't seem to be playing them. It turned out that PowerDVD was playing them, but they were so large that they simply didn't appear on the screen.

Don't know if somehow something like this has happened with some of your subs.

FWIW, it seems to be generally held that PowerDVD's best version was version 5, and subsequent versions have been inferior. It would be interesting to see if Version5 played them any better.

I have a computer that came with version 5 of PowerDVD and I have yet to upgrade.

I have noticed some "subtitle oddity" with PowerDVD though.

For instance I made a DVD the other day using DVDAuthorGUI (which I normally don't use) and this was a Japanese anime so I included the English audio track, the Japanese audio track and the English subtitles.

I made a very simple top menu (no sub menus) with only two options ... PLAY in Japanese with English subs *OR* PLAY in English with No English subs.

The subs would play either way when using PowerDVD but when I used VLC Media Player (playing from the ISO file I created using ImgBurn) it worked correctly.

It seems in PowerDVD (at least version 5.0) that subs are turned on or off via the built-in menu despite what the DVD attempts to "force" or "not force" on you.

Have you checked them in the subtitle editor in DLP to make sure the timings don't overlap and that they have been imported correctly. .srt is a simple text format, but I have seen some badly formed ones anyway.

    Yes, I already check it.

And all subtitle (include 2 missing line) is display correctly in other DVD Player program and Stand-alone DVD Player. (the missing line is disappear only when playing by PowerDVD)

It's some weird problem with PowerDVD, I've seen it happen too. No idea why it happens, though, and if you play the DVD on a standalone player the subtitles will be fine...
