backup data to Dv tapes

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know the software which can make the camcorder to be a tape driver so we can copy, transfer, backup data files from PC to DV tapes ?

Is there any free soft for that ?

There are a number of programs available that can do what you want.

Personally, I'd be very wary of any of them unless they use robust error correction above and beyond that built into the camcorder's recording/playback circuitry. Unlike for video, ensuring bit-perfect storage and retrieval is essential. Blindly stuffing critical data where DV data information should be will invite trouble! Also look to see that any of these tools will verify what has been saved.
