    Hi

I have some avi files, and i have a divx dvd player. I just got a dvd writer with dvd+Rs. Is there a way I can create menus but not convert the divx files. Sorry if this is a repost, i did try to find it on the forums but i was unable to find anything.

    thanks

The newest version (6) of DivX includes support for the "DivX" file format, which is an enhanced version of the AVI container format in that it allows storage of accomanying menus and chapters.
Problem is, which players actually would support this new container. My guess is very, very little.
Other than that option, you'll be stuck with converting to MPEG2 and authoring a standard DVD.
At that point, would probably make more sense to just re-rip the original and leave as MPEG2/DVD instead of converting to Divx and then converting back again.

  3. Plus you weren't clear if you meant a menu for each AVI or a menu to select the AVI files from. If you meant a menu for each movie that the answer above is right. If you meant a menu for the different avi's then no way since the player wouldn't support it.

To play divx movies with menus you would need the divx ultra certified player. Check out the list from here.

    Hope you bought one...
