I just picked up this DVD player at Walmart for $30 to play on my HDTV. When I hooked it up via Component jacks, I got nothing. So I tried the composite video jacks and I got a picture. After going through the setup menu to tell it to output through the component jacks, I got a 480P signal through the component jacks and playing DVD's looked pretty good.
But it has one quirk. After the player has been shut off, it defaults back to "composite video" output. I have to hit the "progressive" button on the remote to make it output through the component jacks again, otherwise all I get is a blank screen. I don't mind hitting an extra button everytime I turn the player on, but is there a fix to make it output through the component jacks full time? Thanks.

Update: Well I found out from tech support that this is the way it is and they can't do anything about it. Then the guy says "Why don't you just leave the player on?" Then there was a long pause , I guess out of my shock that this "tech supprt" guy would say something so stupid. I said "I never had to do this with my other DVD players". But, what do you expect for $30. Like I said, I just have to press an extra button everytime I turn it on.
