Hello, I am a new comer. I come here to seek for help. I was to convert my DVD to iPod to put it into my iPod shuffle. However, when I tried to start, it pops failed information. What shall I do?

BTW, my OS is Mac OS X.

Are you sure you're trying to put it on an iPod Shuffle? As I recall, those don't even have screens.

Only the regular Video and current 5G iPods (regular, not Nano or Shuffle) play video. You could probably store a video on a Nano or Shuffle, but not play them back using the Nano or Shuffle, themselves.
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?

I am a student and I can only afford the iPod Shufle. I just want to put the dialog of my favorite English DVD movies into the shuffle, listen to it and practise my English. I use the DVD to iPod Converter for Mac to perform the conversion, but I can't put the file into the Shffle. Could you tell me how to deal with this? Thank you in advance.

There's no need to convert the whole dvd if you only want the audio track. Not only will you save a lot of space on your Shuffle, but you will also spend much less time to perform the conversion.

FfmpegX has many features, one of which is to convert movie audio into a variety of formats. Just convert into mp3 (for example), and save the result on your Shuffle. then you can play it as you would any other audio selection.

I fear ffmpegX might have too steep a learning curve to get all its necessary bits and pieces installed -- unless thats all changed now. Admittedly I havent used it in a couple of years.

To get the audio off the DVD, if it is in AC3 (Dolby Digital) format, use a tool like YadeX to rip out the audio, then use mAC3dec to convert to mp3.

If theres a more modern equivalent to mAC3dec, someone please suggest.
