  1. It might just be that I am being extremely thick, but I heave searched my ULEAD Media Studio 6 manuals thoroughly, and also searched this and other www sites. How do I do it?

    Thanks,

Load the avi into TMPG as video source. Go to setting > advanced > source range. Select the frame you want as start and end frame. Back to the main window, select file > outout to file > Sequence BMP/..../JPG. Save as .jpg.

  3. Download the PowerPlayer and click on the snapshot (button with the shape of a camera). The BMP file will go to the directory you set in the Config tool(button looks like a hammer):

Convert the BMP to JPEG using some graphics software... Hope this helps.

If you are willing to pay, try Adobe Premiere which in my opinion is way overkilling...

  4. In Virtual Dub:

Load the AVI file, (if ___x480, then apply the 'Telecide' filter), frame advance to the frame you want to capture, then 'Video| Copy Output frame to clipboard'.

Load Paint Shop Pro (or your favorite paint package) and hit 'Edit|Paste as new image'. Then save it as png, jpg, bmp, whatever you want.
