That's usually a obscure mathematical error, but I've never seen it before with a computer program or driver. And I have no idea how it applies to your problem.

Did that error come from Windows or from the installer program? Do you have other similar programs that could be in conflict with that program or drivers? Did it happen during the driver install or when you rebooted and ran the program for the card?

You also may want to install the drivers exactly the way the instructions read. Some don't use the 'new hardware' or device manager' but have a custom install program.

What slot is the card in? Generally, don't install video PCI cards in the slot under the AGP video card or you may get IRQ conflicts.

Follow the correct installation guide as specified by the manual .

    Software installed first .
Shutdown pc , and turn off at power source .
    Install card (not in pci1)
Restart pc ... os will ask for drivers , insert disc (you may need to point to actual folder location)
    And wait .

If all went well , restart the pc .

If other ... unistall device drivers and software .
Repeat installation method , but choose next pci slot down (pci2) .

    Remember :

Onboard agp / agp slot / pci1 share resources ... do not use pci1
    Pci2 / pci3 share resources ... only one may have a card installed .
    Pci4 / pci5 share resources ... only one may have a card installed .

You may want to remove other addon cards ... get the video capture card up and working first ... then sort out the rest from that point ... capture cards can be problematic when motherboards have limited pci slots available .

Ps : Under xp , make sure you are logged into an account with FULL admin priviledges :

1: Add Administrator Account to Log In Screen

When Windows XP is first installed it requires you to enter at least one name of a user who will access the computer. Once you create this name the default Administrator account vanishes. To access it, press Ctrl-Alt-Delete twice at the Welcome screen to retrieve the standard Windows xp logon dialog. Log on as Administrator from this point. To log the Administrator off, click [Start] [Log Off] and [Log Off] when the [Log Off Windows] selection box appears. The Log On screen with the available users will be displayed.

2: To Make the Administrator Account Always Visible on the Login Screen

    [Start] [Run] [Regedit]
    Registry Key: HKEY_LOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserLis t
Modify/Create the Value Data Type(s) and Value Name(s) as detailed below.
Data Type: DWORD// Value Name: Administrator
    Setting for Value Data: [0 = Disabled / 1 = Enabled]
    Exit Registry and Reboot
