Aspect ratio problems

I have Sony DCR-DVD405. Win XP OS, Computer Pentium 2.8D, 2G RAM Premiere Elements 2.0
Problems I had when imported movies from 3 small DVD's is that tries to reencode;
I did it just to check it and video come out jerky and 4:3 scweezed instead of 16:9.
I found that I have to get Main Concept Elements and I bought one. Even after I setup every thing for 16:9 ratio and reimport DVD's I still have this 4:3 ratio scweezed.
It's funny to see that theese file play with correct ratio in WMP. I can not find more settings for that
Another thing is when importing it numbers files kind of backwards, like first #2, second #1 etc. Does anibody have that problem?

Not sure about aspect ratio problem, but I've seen the re-ordering issue. In the end I simply gave up worrying about it and manually re-arranged the files in the list box after importing
