    Lg brand DVD recorder (LRY-517)

purchased at Best buy #305 on 5/22/06

Problem: can not view or play DVD’s created on this machine on any other DVD player or recorder besides the LRY-517 machine that created it namely mine.

Clarification: I create a DVD from a cable generated program. I play it back on my DVD recorder. It plays great.
I then take the DVD to a friends house to watch it with them on their DVD machine and it says disk error. WHY?

Examples of various types of DVD media used to record cable generated programs all of witch pay back on my unit with no problems what so ever.

    DVD-R
PLAYS BACK GREAT IN MY UNIT. WHEN REPLAY IS ATTEMPTED IN SIX DIFFERENT BRANDS OF DVD PLAYERS A ERROR MESSAGE APPEARS INCORRECT DISK.

    DVD+RW

I have never heard of this type of problem before. What in the world am I doing wrong? thanks for your help. Mike

  2. Ok, but I have to ask. You did finalize the disk on your recorder, right? The problem sounds like what happens when you take an unfinalized disk and try to play it in another machine.
