    Been trying to install win98 on a HD, I fdisked, formated, etc, and now when I boot to the cd to install win98 and choose "setup.exe" it says this program cannot run in Dos. Why? I just finished a semester of this at school, and cannot belive I am having this many problems.

    Give us more info, if you boot your computer with DOS disk boot you are in DOS and can't run a windows app. Use Dr DOS boot. If your cd is windows bootable cd it should start ok. Also check you might be running the wrong file, there could be more than one installation file eg it may start with install.exe
