  1. Dont you love xmas and kids....Ok i bought my daughter ythis mp3 player,i installed the driver disk.When i try to put a mp3 or wma file onto the disc i keep getting that the disc is write protected.

    This mesage when i try to run the driver update tool or try anything else (like formating the disk)with the mp3 disk....



    It may just be something im overlooking or the players disk is naff.Any help much appreciated...

    Hello! One thing to try: if there is a "hold" switch" if its on it will not allow you to write anything to the mp3 player, moving it off should allow tracks to be put on it.

  3. Exactly, check the manual for a hold switch. That will in effect write protect the drive. I know IPODs have such a switch.

    Don't you just love the fractured grammar in the in the Information window you posted. Should have been "disk is write protected!" Not as bad some of the text I've seen in Motherboard Bioses or Personal DVD Player manuals made in China.

  4. Thanks for the replies.I have managed to work it out,with your help.On the mp3 player there is a option for system,if you go into that you will find the disc is locked you have to set the disk to normal...geez
