  1. I'm very confused on how to interpret the capacity of a DVD window in Nero 6. I had copied a dvd movie and would like to compare the copy with the original. This is what the dvd window in Nero 6 had stated:
    Copied Dvd with movie(4.7GB)

    Capacity in use: 4,402 KB
    Track 01: 4,506,720KB
    Session 01: (4,402MB

    Original Dvd with movie

    Capacity in use:6,518MB
    Track 01: 6,674,306KB
    Session 016,518MB)
What I would like to know is did I copied everything exactly from the original Dvd?

  2. With the information you give, there is no way to tell.

You just need to put the DVD in a player and see if everything works.

Nero may have shrunk it for you, I never used it that way. It should not copy if there is a size mismatch between the source and the destination unless it is shrinking it.

Put it in your PC DVD drive, open Explorer and right-click the drive name. Select "Properties" and it'll tell you the byte count

Well, you obviously didn't "copy" it since the two disk are DRASTICALLY different ... it looks more like you've run the double-layer original disk thru Nero Recode (works like DVDShrink) to reduce it's size (and therefore quality) down to a single-layer size for burning. Whether the reduced quality is still good enough is very much a personal preference - just watch the thing and see if it meets your requirements. If not re-rip the original and burn to a double-layer disk!
