Hi,
I am getting coasters from the last few weeks now. I have been burning with the same drive on same disks and on same machine for more than a year now. Never had a single coaster. But all of a sudden, not a single disk is getting burned. The disks I am using are Ridata DVD+R. I thought they are good, because i have burnt more than 30disks from this set.
My dvd drive is Cyberhome DVDR/RW DX162D-A. I don't see there website anymore as I wanted to check if there is an updated Firmware. Please help. I am copying the LOG from the last time, intially the drive complained about an Empty disc (it had a new disc). I put the same disc back again, and then it started burning and after about 10% it failed. help please...
anybody has the this cyberhome drive?

That usually means a problem with the media or less possibly the burner. The media is cheaper and easier to adjust. DVD media can change by the batch, so even if it worked before, things change. I would try a different brand. If that doesn't help, there may be a problem with the burner.
What brand of DVD media are you using? Unless I missed it, the burner and Nero couldn't figure that out. If so, that's a bad sign. -
I use Ridata/Ritek +R's all of the time with no problems....although I only use 8x Ridata/Ritek....the faster ones DO suck on my machine.
You have two options really....re-install Nero or stop using Nero and try another burning program. Prassi Ones is a 30 day free trial and ImgBurn is completely free. -
From tracking through posts through several sites :

Update to Nero 6.6.1.4, your version is old. Add another stick of ram, you are running with 40MB free which means a lot of extra unneeded disk activity.
