Converting for TiVo ToGo

I'm new to all this but I need to know how to use FFMPEGX to convert an avi file to the correct format for viewing on a tivo, I have tried several times (twice with VLC) and I can't get it it work, any suggestions?

Naw that only helps with decoding .tivo files, I'm looking to go the other way arund, convert .avi to the correct .mpg format to upload to Tivo... I havetried Galleon and the hack for tivo desktop on mac... I can't get it to work.

Is it that you are trying to play videos on the TiVo from the Mac or actually upload them to the TiVo's hard drive? Is this something PC users can do? I'm sorry I'm useless in solving your issue, but I'm also thinking of getting a TiVo when Mac support for TiVo ToGo becomes available.
