Does anyone have experience converting MPEG2 to H.264 with an ATI Avivo graphics card?

If all you are looking to do is make somthing to play on a hand held media player, the Avivo converter could work for you. For anything else, as jagabo stated, the quality sucks. The only output setting availabe is a low to high quality slider that sets the bit rate and video size. It has only one h.264 output format, which is the ipod setting. The only saving grace to the app. is its speed. For a five minute cut of a DVD rip to the low ipod output setting, I was getting about 235 fps. So, even on an older single core PC you could obtain a livable output rate.

    edit:
Depending on the ATI video adapter, there also may be h.264 HD 720p and 1080p codecs available to you. Avivo for my older X1650 pro card does not show these.
