I have been using the card without any problems for TV and recording but I connected the AV Input to record a VHS tape and I have not been able to get any of the programs to recognizine it as a source. I am using the Cyberlink Director and Producer software that came with it. I realize there might be better software but it should at least recognize the card right? I downloaded the latest drivers from ATI and the ATI Unified AVStream Driver is listed under Sound, Video, and Game Controllers. Any help would be appreciated.

Try using the Windows Movie Maker program (it should already be on your computer if you use Windows XP). It can capture video from a capture device using the "Capture Video" in the "Movie Tasks". As a minimum, this should see the 550 card and allow you to select the 550's composite or svideo input to be the input source for the capture. Using this might give you insights on using the Cyberlink software. Be aware that some capture apps capture using an AVI file format, bypassing the 550's hardware MPEG2 encoder.
