    Hi all,

    I manage to create a switch / motion menu using DVDLab Pro. Is there a way to capture the audio during the Render Motion Menu step ?

    Thanks in advance for your respond.

    I have a few similar/related questions regard audio in menus using DVD-Lab Pro.

    My video loop is only 33 seconds due to limited disc space, and my audio is approximately double that (67s). I'd like the same video segment to loop so that the audio may complete before the menu refreshes. Currently, the audio resets with the video loop. I've tried setting the timeout to higher values but this doesn't seem to have an effect; the video seems to control the looping either way. Is there any way to let the audio complete before resetting the loop--preferably while looping the video once (playing twice)?

    Also, I am curious if there is a way to get the same audio track to continue over multiple menus so that there is no interuption. In other words, the music does not reset when changing from menu 1 to menu 2. So far it doesn't seem possible. I want to say I've seen it on a retail DVD before, but I could be mistaken.

    If this is not a related question, I apologize; it seemed like it was. I can post a new topic if that is preferred. Thank you for any help,

    Jinx

    @Jinx,
    No prob. I think DVDLab Pro will match the video and audio length with video as precedent. Can you try a longer video loop of 67sec ? Not sure if DVDLab allows motion menu of more than 30 seconds.

    As for my problem, I am thinking of preparing the video clips for motion menu. In this way, I can attach the audio after I do the Render Motion. I guess this is the hardway.

    I don't use Render Motion in DLP at all. I prep all motion menus in Vegas instead. The quality is much better, and it is easier to use.

    Your video defines the maximum length of the loop, as which point it all goes round again, starting the audio back at the beginning. If your audio is 67 seconds long, you need to have a 67 second video.

    You cannot make music/audio continue through menu changes. The DVD spec does not allow for this to happen.

    Interesting information. I am disappointed about the specification not supporting continuous audio, but, of course, understand that nothing can be done. Hopefully next-generation media will enable more truly interactive interface.

    As for video defining the length of the loop: I did not know that and am a bit suprised that it's forced this way. Unfortunately, as I noted, I'm unable to fit a video of longer length on a standard DVD, so I suppose I'll have to stick to a still menu (and after all that work, heh).

    Anyway, thank you both for your help. Perhaps preparing motion menus outside of DVD Lab is the smarter route--I've run into quite a few problems with it--though it is much easier to use for simple menus. Thanks again,

    @guns1inger,
    I was curious how come the DLP guru never reply my post ....
    Now, I know...

    @Jinx,
    You can easily make your motion menu video twice as long using an mpeg editor e.g. Womble.

    pchan: I appreciate the suggestion, but the reason I wanted to use the same 33 seconds was to avoid more space consumption. I wound up using DVD-Lab to re-render the motion scenes, letting it exceed the DVD5 size, then threw it into DVD-Shrink and shrunk the two menus. Probably not the best or most efficient way, but it worked with what looks like minimal to unnoticeable degradation in picture quality. Thanks again.
