  1. I'm trying to connect my Dell Inspiron, Win XP laptop to our new Sony Bravia LCD TV via a 15pin serial cable that came with the TV. I connect it and go to PC input mode on the TV and it recognises no source. Is there a way on the laptop to output to the serial? Thanks for any help.

Does the laptop have a VGA (DB-15) out? This is RGB parallel not serial.

Read the computer manual for setting up for dual monitor. First monitor is the laptop LCD. Second will usually be the S-Video or VGA out. Set the VGA out for a resolution the TV's manual says it will accept. 1024x768 is probably a good first choice. Refresh needs to be 60Hz. Then try 1280x768 or 1366x768.

Also, you may need to toggle which display the video is sent to using the function keys.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.
